Birthday Party & Swimming

This weekend we had a party at our house to celebrate Ben and Kyla's birthday. We had a breakfast theme which included hashbrowns, eggs, waffles, fruit, bacon and sausage. Then Ben made homemade vanilla ice cream with Oreo cookies. We got to see Kyla get messy for the first time while she dug into her cake.
The next day the kids wanted to go swimming and I figured that was a good alternative to sitting around on our butts.
Is it just me or is summer is going by way too fast?!

Cabin Fever

We spent Labor Day weekend at our grandparent's cabin in Idaho. The weather was really nice, and we had a good time. As always, when my family gets together there is plenty of good food. I spent a lot of the weekend in a carb-enduced coma. It was totally worth it! My aunt and uncle brought up their four-wheelers and the kids had a blast on those. We found a stray dog the day that we arrived and Gavin and Kaylee took good care of him while we were there. Gavin was pretty traumatized when we took the dog to the animal shelter, but hopefully after a little time and therapy he'll recover.

Two Nights in a Row!

All of us at the CPK

Lucy, Cheryl, Cassie, and me

This weekend I had the rare opportunity to go out two nights in a row. On Friday night, myself along with some fellow Twilight Moms went to a really great bakery called the Sweet Tooth Fairy for cupcakes in Provo. Then we met some other TM's at the California Pizza kitchen in Provo. We had a great time and learned maybe a little too much about each other :).
On Saturday evening we went to "Erin's Sleepover" at the Hilton. It was basically a women's expo. The best part about it was getting Glitter Toes. It's a new way of toe nail painting that is supposed to last a lot longer than regular polish. They are sparkly black and super sassy. Kaylee was pretty jealous about me getting my toes done and she said "no more going out with your friends without me". Apparently I'm grounded...

Scouts

This week Gavin earned his Bobcat badge. It took us all of about 10 minutes to do what we needed to get the badge, but since it was the first badge that he's ever earned, he was very excited. The Bobcat is basically the badge for the kids with slacker parents that didn't have them start when they were 8 years old. They have to get the Bobcat before they can get the Bear badge. Are you paying attention? There will be a quiz later!

Not that I'm biased...

Not that I'm biased, but aren't my kids so stinking cute? We got their pictures taken today and I am so glad they are over with. Pictures stress me out like crazy. It feels like a lot of work to keep everyone looking nice with no throw up or food stains on them until we are finished. And of course Daxton decided he was starving right when we got there, so I had to shove the bottle in his mouth in between pictures to keep him happy. Oh well, the end result turned out nice don't you think?

Baby Blessing

This Sunday was Daxton's baby blessing. Everything went really smooth, especially considering we had about 45 people show up. My grandpa Bartschi gave the blessing, and even though he was really nervous, he did a great job. Thankfully Daxton waited to do an explosion of bodily functions until the festivities were almost over. Thank goodness for small miracles...

Good Ship Lollipop

Last week Kaylee got to perform with her ballet class at The Peery's Egyptian Theater in Ogden. She and her friend Quinn have been practicing for this dance since December, and she couldn't wait to show me her moves. She did such a good job, and even Gavin liked the dance. Good job sis!
