Birthday Weekend

Jaskson...sigh

The whole band

Lisa, me, and Jackson

The look on Jackson's face after I threw a pair of pink panties on the stage! Then he picked them up and put them in his pocket!

Me and the girls at Bucca

I celebrated my birthday this weekend in the best way. On Friday night we went to dinner at Buca De Peppo in Salt Lake. They had the best italian food! They also had a few nude paintings of men and women decorating the place, which is a little off putting when you're trying to eat, but whatever. Then we headed over to this little dive of a place for a 100 Monkeys concert. One of the members is the guy who plays Jasper in the Twilight movies. The band was sooo good! I haven't listened to anything but them for a week now and I have most of their songs memorized. The guys were so down to earth and were nice enough to have their pictures taken with us and do autographs after the show. We entered an auction to win a camera that they had used during their day in Utah, and we won! What a night!!

Another Christmas Come and Gone...

It's hard to believe that after all of that planning, and budgeting, and shopping it's all over for another year. We had a great Christmas, and I'm relieved and sad that it's done. The kids got everything that they wanted and then some. It's a good thing no one really expects us to pay bills this month...right?

Kaylee's Dance Recital

This last Thursday was Kaylee's dance recital. She did such a good job! It was so cute to watch her out there with her poofy pony tail shakin' her booty. Her Aunt Mimi and Uncle Todd gave her a rose after the concert and she said she felt like a pretty princess.

Family Pictures

We ventured out to Target today for the most dreaded of events, family pictures. I swear I spent all morning threatening the kids not to move in case they spilled on their clothes or messed up their hair. Gavin got grounded from his Nintendo DS for not smiling in the pictures, which led to more not smiling. I probably should have tried a different approach. At any rate, we are done for another year and I couldn't be happier about it.

New Moon and Fall Leaves

As most of you know, New Moon was released on Friday. I have been soooo looking forward to it and I can't believe it's finally here. I spent Thursday afternoon with friends at the "New Moon Experience" at the Expo Center and then we headed to the midnight showing at Jordon Commons. After getting about two hours of sleep that night we headed to the Expo Center for day 2 and saw the movie again at 7:00 that night. I was totally pooped after my New Moon bender, but it was worth every minute and almost every dollar.
To top the weekend off, my kids and I raked leaves and then jumped in them. We eventually bagged them all up just as the first few snowflakes came down. Now it's time to start another fun week of being Thankful and binging!

Very Sad...

Today was a sad day for our family. Our beloved dog Moki, who has been around 14 long years died. The kids took it better than I did. We will remember her for her gentle nature, her love of eating anything she could get her paws on, her patience, and her unconditional love. We will miss her very much.

Happy Halloween!

You always know it's been a great holiday if no one gets seriously injured and no one (Gavin), throws up. We had another great candy/calorie filled day starting first at Ben's parent's house, and then at my parent's house. Ben dressed up as Elvis, I was a Dark Angel, Gavin was Iron Man, Kaylee was a black cat, and Daxton was the only giraffe in the world with no neck. Everyone went trick or treating and ended up with many cavities worth of candy. I'm sure I'll be picking up the wrappers until Easter, but oh well.
